I've had a ridiculously busy day yesterday and morning today, so I'm taking some well earned time out.
It seems that people at my work are sither not very good at forward planning when they need information, or they just have ridiculous expectations. Last week someone wanted a list of postcodes for several key towns in Oxfordshire by Friday. When did I get confirmation on the exact list of towns? Friday afternoon! Another group need some detailed population and economy data for Oxfordshire's market towns. Time frame? By the end of Tuesday.... *sigh*
Needless to say, here we are at 1pm on Tuesday and they are all done... Sometimes I ROCK!!!
I've actually got an almost finished version of my Population forecasting tool done. It just needs a bit of User Testing to make sure it does what they want it to, and then I can release it. YAY!!!
Big news is that I recently decided to get back into drama and last week went to a social night at the local amdram group. It was awkward at first as they're in the middle of rehearsals for their panto (rehearsing panto in January???? Weird...) and so everyone was kind of busy. Eventually we were noticed and went and did a read through of a script that someone had written for some upcoming festivals. This inspired me and I started re-working a screenplay I started some time ago for the stage. It's looking in fairly good shape with all the characters sorted with their goals and backgrounds, all plotlines are sorted and I've made a good start on the dialogue.
Well... I suppose I'd better get back to pretending to work for the rest of the day! ;D
Shhh..... Don't tell anyone....
